ABOUT THE DESIGN PROCESS

  1. These aren't kit knives from the internet. Each knife is my own design. I can't say that I'm never inspired by someone else's work, but I can say that each knife, as a whole, is my own creation. The same can be said about the sheaths as well. That's important to me and I find great joy and satisfaction in the design process. Always have.

  2. I try to use local materials. I would source all of my materials from local suppliers if I could. Unfortunately, carbon steel isn't common steel, so it comes from an online supplier in Utah (typically). The hardwood, however, is very often sourced from local folks and rarely sourced from the internet. Local is important to me and I do try my best.

  3. Each piece is unique. Even my basic "production" models are handmade and unique in some way. You might find two knives that are similar, but you won't find two that are identical - you know - like clones from a factory. Nope.
